Alivia's quote for the day:
"Mommy, I really want to kiss my belly button! But it's too hard to kiss belly buttons and it makes me so mad!"

New Display Name

Ok, so I googled my own name today just for kicks. I had no idea that every comment you post with anyone's blogs pulls up in the google search engine if your display name is used as your real name! That kind of freaked me out a little!!! Ok, a lot!!!! Now, maybe I am an idiot and all of you already knew this, but I am not the most tech savvy... So, I changed my display name to hopefully give me a little more privacy! Aaaaah!!

Eliza Magazine!

Hey everyone!! Just wanted to let you know something that I found on a blog! My friend showed me this gal's blog (which in itself is fantastic!! She posts about food storage, FHE, crafts, all sorts of great stuff!) Her latest post is featuring a magazine subscription give away! I know we all love free-bees!! So, check out her blog, it is on my list as d goddess.
However, I had never heard of this magazine and what she wrote about it tugged a little on a heart string! This Mag was started by a former super model. (can't remember her name, but check out the original post for more info!) At any rate, it is a magazine geared towards modest clothing and style! How cool is that!?!?! I did not even know it existed!! Well, sounds like this mag needs to get more subscriptions in order to survive! I am sooo all over supporting something that is promoting good in society! So, I would like to also do my own giveaway of a free subscription!! Post comments here and try to win!!! Drawing will be held May 1st!!!
Please all, check it out! http://www.elizamagazine.com/ Let's see if we can spread the word and keep something good out there! LOVES!

Problem #2... Any suggestions for blog names?? I'm stumped!

Friday, April 3, 2009

I have been thinking a lot over the past few weeks on how to make an impact and a difference in the world. My aspirations are HUGE and many of them will be only possible down the road. So, I have really been pondering the question... What can I do now???

So, here is what has been running through my brain and I would love input and thoughts on how to tie it all together!!

I have two large heart-strings. The first is Marriage. I am sure that most of us feel the same way, but it really tears me up that there are so many failing at their wonderful and beautiful "Happily Ever Afters". Those who know me well, know that I am pretty much obsessed with reading self development and marriage books. Now, I am so far from perfect... I am still reading... a lot... but somehow I would love to put what I have learned to good use.

Second heart-string is empowerment. I want to help as many people as I can to be able to see their true potential and the true plan of what God has in store for their lives. I think that we tend to settle for mediocrity, but HE has a much bigger plan for us. HE wants us to be amazing and to lead lives of significance. This little journey stirring in my heart is part of my path to leading a life of significance!

So, how to tie this all together??? My thought at this point is in Blog form... I am thinking that I will post ideas, excerpts, topics and have open forum of discussion. We can all share our ideas and thoughts to help us along the way! Let's find a way to touch some lives and help some marriages and families!! I want feed back!! Not only from all of you, my friends, but everyone you know!! Please send me emails! shantelreitz@yahoo.com.

I have been working on this post for a while. Writing and rewriting.... and rewriting again. With a little thanks to my sis Meg, her Post today made me realize that it is never going to be perfect, I just have to jump in and do it! I am ready!! Spread the word and help me out!!

Dylan's Quote of the Month!!

Dylan and Travis are driving to school discussing planes that they want to buy in the future (this is a common topic at our home...). During which time, Dylan says, "Dad, Mom says when I am 12 I can babysit. (Dramatic Pause...) I don't want to babysit!!! I want to see the WORLD!!!"
...That's my boy!!

Dylan singing

So, at a church service on Oct. 12, our amazing friend Tim pulled Dylan up on stage with him and his family to sing. He was in front of about 3,000 people. I guess you would have to understand this family to appreciate the magnitude of this. Dylan loves these guys, and looks up to them so very much!! They are like family to us. He has been levitating ever since!! It was a dream come true for him. He has asked me nearly everyday for almost 2 years if he could sing with them. (Goadies, we love you!!) Please check out their website if you get a chance!! http://www.thegoads.com/
They are some of the most amazing people you could ever ask to associate with!!

Free Enterprise Day 2008!!

Travis and I feel very fortunate to be able to celebrate America and our Free Enterprise system for an entire weekend once a year with our friends!! This year, we had a few of the most amazing WW2 veterans there to tell their stories. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. I am amazed that men can carry such blind courage and do the things they did in such circumstances. I pray that we all realize that freedom isn't free and that many people paid, and many currently pay a huge price for us to enjoy what we have. I hope we may never forget that it is us as citizens that makes America great. We must learn not to rely on those we elect into office to take care of this country, but on ourselves. When we took our first steps to becoming independent, it was a group of 2% that signed our Declaration of Independence. We must never forget that an individual can make a difference. Let's not forget where we came from...

Crazy sisters

Crazy sisters
Hailey, I love you tons!! I am so dang proud of you!!

Crazy Crazy...

Ok, so these pictures are the culmination of about 2 hours that started out of boredom... but nothing can be boring for too long at our house. There are too many crazies around for quiet and stillness to reign for long. This moment is exactly what sisters are for.

To Hailey, I love you so very much. You are such an amazing girl... and I love that we share the same wacky and strange spirit. I really am so proud of you and I hope you always know that.

About Me

My photo
My life truly began on September 11, 1999. That is the day I married my amazing, champion husband, Travis. He is so perfect for me and I thank God for him everyday. We have been blessed with 2 beautiful children, Dylan, 5, and Alivia 1. They are the absolute joy in my life (next to Travis). I hope that everyday of my life each of them has no question that I love them. Words can never explain.
